Molti Bean

Molti Bean
From a time in 2024 when restaurant Molti Amici in Healdsburg CA closed, the menus were abundant. I included the scrapbook feeling, layers of familiar texture, and inappropriate combinations. To-go sauce containers filled with paint that’s leaks into the resemblance of a Frenchie-pug named Bean, and among the greenery of tropics where pugs aren’t native. Playing with putting certain influences on the same canvas, their opposites attracting our eye, the combination of things set together that would otherwise not belong.
I felt the freedom of an idea loosing its width, the way a dish leaves the kitchen before the chef had the final touches. The miscommunication of a vibe, the way you sway at a party in between small talks with people you’ve never met. It’s the little things that we endure quietly that go unrecognized and add to the style of what we intention, no matter how bold. The “time” is running out and we “miss” the change to do exactly what we wanted, but the outcome still remains, whole.
Repurposed canvas decorated with materials including tape, acrylic paint, recycled togo cups, glue.
